So you all know Florida is all about the beach and Disney World. But did you also know we’ve got some seriously good German bakeries here too?
Between the fresh breads, sweet treats, and charcuterie, these spots will make you feel like you’re in Germany for a sec. And I will not repeat myself by telling you about the same bakeries I discovered recently, like the Yalaha Bakery. That combined with that special bread I found at the German Bread Guy motivated me to continue further and see what other German bakeries are there, and how good they are.
It was a simple and enjoyable experience as I would just pass by and pick something random from various spots. That helped me make this new list of 5 best German bakeries in Florida you shouldn’t miss.
5. The Glass Knife
This bakery is located in Winter Park. The appearance is a combination of modern and retro with a lot of details that remind of the old days. But the more important is what they have to offer.
The Glass Knife serves a variety of pastries and breads, including their signature cakes. Each item on the menu looks perfect. They also offer exclusive Onyx Coffee, making it a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
The setting is communal and smoke-free, with a dog-friendly policy, which adds to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

- Signature cakes: Beautifully crafted and delicious, these cakes are a highlight of their menu. The design and flavor make them perfect for any occasion.
- Turkey bacon club sandwich: A perfect solution if you are looking for a quick breakfast. Honestly, it couldn’t get any better than this.
- Breakfast and brunch: Besides the turkey sandwich, there are many other options. Therefore, this bakery can easily become my morning routine, and I won’t get bored by eating the same thing every day. I am planning to check out the Cheddar Biscuit Sandwich Plate the next time.
4. Sister Honey’s
Sister Honey’s Bakery, located at 247 E. Michigan St., Orlando, is named after the owner Evette Rahman’s mother, Eulalee Runcie, nicknamed “Sister Honey”. This bakery is known for food made from scratch every day with premium ingredients.
Open Tuesday through Saturday, Sister Honey’s is just the right spot where you can enjoy a break.
Each item is put together carefully and they pay attention to the little things, making each visit a little different. The bakery uses good ingredients to make everything taste good. It’s comfortable and welcoming there so it’s a nice place to relax and have something sweet to eat.
My recommendations
- Scratch-made pastries: These pastries are perfect, especially Pecan Tartlets. But there are many other options, perfect to try something new every day.
- Premium ingredients: The bakery prides itself on using the best possible components. This dedication to quality is evident in every product they offer.
- Cakes and Cookies: My favorite is Walnut Fudge Brownies. However, I must say that you may be surprised by the prices in this place. They are a bit too high, but the reason is that they really are using only top-quality ingredients.
3. Charlie’s Bakery & Creamery
Charlie’s Bakery & Creamery has been serving the Orlando community for over 50 years. Located in Orlando, this bakery is known for its delicious cookies, cakes, pies, pastries, and ice cream. It has a loyal following, and it’s easy to see why with consistent quality and a wide range of items.
Over the years, Charlie’s has won numerous awards, including Best Bakery in Orlando by several prestigious publications, highlighting their commitment to excellence.

Currently owned by Tricia Hage, Charlie’s uses only the finest ingredients, and some recipes are secret family treasures passed down through generations. After all, that is one of the main reasons for having a large base of loyal customers.

For those with dietary restrictions, Beneficial Breads offers gluten-free options and hand-baked goods that do not contain artificial flavors, preservatives, or bleached flour.
These options are just as delicious as their traditional counterparts, ensuring everyone can enjoy a tasty treat.

1. Schweini’s Delicatessen
Located at 108 S Main Street, Winter Garden, Schweini’s Delicatessen is a unique combination of classic German pub and bakery. One of the most popular products is their large sandwich, you can choose a range of ingredients for it. The sandwiches are packed with a variety of deli meats, cheeses, and fresh vegetables. I tried the Müller sandwich, which is perfect for those who prefer more meat and are quite hungry. Next time I come here, I will go for something more “exotic”, like that Deutsch Dip, which looks very interesting.
They also offer a wide selection of German beers and house-made cheesecakes.
It’s also a place where soccer fans meet up. They show German, English, and Spanish games. So, if you are following those leagues, this can be your perfect spot to enjoy. You get a real European atmosphere in this place.
